A passion profession

“Nature guide wasn't the job I was thinking about when I was a kid, but I dreamed of being an explorer in tropical countries. I always thought of a profession close to nature or in full immersion in it and to forge a naturalist profile, and it has been so throughout my life.
It was by discovering and observing animals with my parents, in West Africa and the Maghreb, that this visceral passion for nature arose. Chameleons, land turtles, insects and birds immediately fascinated me, a passion that became a profession.

In the profession of nature guide, what fascinates me first of all is to observe the living, all this biodiversity that surrounds us but also to share my knowledge in the field of nature and the environment. To raise public awareness and awareness of environmental problems in order to generate a responsible citizen impetus in them. Topics such as ecology, recycling, biodiversity are addressed in particular.”

Fauna and flora in winter in the Luberon

“The landscapes change in every season, the vegetation is green in winter after the autumn rains. I am looking forward to the flowering of almond trees in February. The tranquility and the winter calm. If there is one season where survival is a challenge for wildlife every day, it is winter. The temperatures are cold in Provence, food is scarce, the cold often makes it much more difficult for mammals and birds to travel. Insects are invisible and lurk in their shelters.”

Many plants, especially flowering plants, are dormant. Others have wilted, and their seeds have fallen to the ground or flew away with the wind. Who has never had fun blowing on a dandelion, for the pleasure of seeing these little parachutes float in the air with grace? Most of these seeds land less than two meters away, but under optimal conditions — dry air and strong wind — some can travel up to a kilometer. All these little seeds will germinate in spring, but a very common plant in our arid, rocky scrubland is blooming right now: rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus).”

The favorite winter landscapes

'Like this year, Gordes under the snow, a free luxury and a pleasure for the eyes!

View from the Petit Luberon to the Iron Cross of Mérindol over the Lower Durance Valley.

The limestone cliffs with its cedars and oaks that surround the village of Oppède le Vieux.”
