The Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, one of the seven natural gems of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA) region, stretches majestically across the departments of Vaucluse and Alpes de Haute-Provence. A veritable treasure trove of biodiversity, flora and fauna, the park boasts exceptional landscapes and deserves all the attention it can get, whether for its links with nature, its commitment to UNESCO, or its role as a must-see destination for geology and geotourism enthusiasts.

Indeed, the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon is not just a protected area, it has also been elevated to the rank of biosphere reserve by Unesco, an honour reserved for territories dedicated to exploring the interactions between man and nature, thus preserving the region's rich natural environments. This means that the Luberon serves as a life-size laboratory for understanding how man can coexist harmoniously with his natural environment.

What's more, the Luberon is an integral part of the global network of Geoparks, a well-deserved accolade for an area with such a unique geology. Geoparks are popular destinations for geotourism enthusiasts, offering exceptional geological features worthy of in-depth exploration. The Luberon offers visitors the chance to discover rare and fascinating geological phenomena, contributing to an enriching and educational tourist experience.

At the heart of the Parc du Luberon lies Destination Luberon, a region of incredible ecological fragility, renowned for its exceptional quality of life, rich cultural heritage, breathtaking panoramas and many natural treasures, including some of the most spectacular gorges and canyons. The park covers a vast area of 1850 km², stretching from east to west and centred around the Luberon mountain range, offering a diversity of landscapes, split in two by the Combe de Lourmarin. It reaches its highest point at the summit of Mourre Nègre, which stands proudly at 1125 metres above sea level on the Grand Luberon.

The Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon is much more than just a nature reserve. It's a place of discovery, preservation and inspiration, where man and nature live side by side in harmony. Whether you're a nature lover, a geology enthusiast or simply looking for a haven of peace in the heart of Provence, the Luberon is a must-see destination that deserves to be explored and enjoyed in all its splendour. Join us for an adventure in this unspoilt natural gem, where the history of the Earth and humanity is revealed at every step.
