The Winegrowers Sunsets

In 2018, Luberon Cœur de Provence Tourisme initiated a process of animation of the network of actors in order to work on the development of wine tourism in the region. It was following various work meetings that the “Sunsets Vignerons” event was born for the first edition in 2019. This event, launched by Luberon Cœur de Provence Tourisme, then extended to the territories of Isle sur la Sorgue Tourisme, Luberon Sud Tourisme and Pays d'Apt Luberon in 2020 and 2021. After 3 successful editions, the Pertuis tourist office joined the process in 2022.

The principle:

The main challenge of this summer event is to promote wine tourism in the Luberon. The evenings take place as follows:

  • Walk of 30 to 45 minutes in the heart of the vineyards: the winemakers explain the cultivation of the vine, the grape varieties, the soil (...).
  • Visit of the cellar and cellars
  • Wine tasting accompanied by small dishes for a food and wine pairing.

Evenings can accommodate up to 20 people (+5 children) per domain depending on the themes.
During the evenings in your domain, do not hesitate to share your photos with the #sunsetsvigneronsluberon and identify your referent tourist office: on Instagram: @luberoncoeurdeprovence @islesurlasorguetourisme @luberon .sud.tourisme @paysaptluberon On Facebook: @Luberon Cœur de Provence Tourism @Isle sur la Sorgue Tourisme @Luberon South Tourism @Office Tourism Pays d'Apt Luberon @Office Pertuis Tourism.

Vineyard & discovery label

Awarded by Atout France for a period of 3 years to a tourist and wine destination offering a range of tourist products (accommodation, cellar visits and tasting, museum, accommodation...), this label allows visitors to facilitate the organization of their stay while being oriented towards qualified services.

Our objectives

Through the Vineyards & Discoveries label, we want to make our territory shine as a wine tourism destination in its own right, positioned on a qualitative and geographically coherent tourist territory. The daily support of the AOC Luberon Syndicate and Inter Rhône has made it possible to recognize the quality of production and to structure the reception in the cellars. Finally, the world of tourism oriented to “shared experiences and discoveries” finds through wine tourism a great opportunity to discover its territory in a “real” and “simple” way.

Progress of the file

The Luberon Coeur de Provence tourist office and the Luberon Sud Tourisme and Pays d'Apt Luberon tourist offices, are pleased to announce that they have obtained the Vignobles & Découvertes (V&D) label 'Destination Luberon' issued by Atout France, officially obtained on March 14, 2022.

The project

As the bearer of the Vignobles & Découvertes - 'Destination Luberon' label, Luberon Coeur de Provence initiated and carried the project in connection with neighboring territories. This collaborative work, assisted and advised by the AOC Luberon and Inter Rhône syndicate, leads after a year of waiting to obtain the label to enhance the wine tourism offer of the Luberon.

Vineyards & discoveries 'Destination Luberon'

The V&D label 'Destination Luberon' covers the entire geographical area of the AOC Luberon for wine production, slightly extended to the neighboring municipalities for service providers (hosts, restaurateurs...). The Luberon AOC extends over 3300ha in a territory that represents ¾ of the surface of the Luberon massif. This zone represents 50 km from east to west and 20 km from north to south.

Many socio-professional partners committed themselves during the preparation of the file and are now nearly a hundred to be labeled:

  • 27 cellars and estates,
  • 28 accommodations,
  • 11 restaurants,
  • 6 heritage sites,
  • 1 receptive structure,
  • 28 activity or leisure providers,
  • 2 wellness and health activities,
  • 3 events around wine.

Obtaining the V&D label 'Destination Luberon' is just the beginning of a great adventure. In the near future, the partners will meet to work on the implementation of new actions to promote the wine tourism offer in the Luberon and the animation of this new network of partners, in addition to the 'Sunsets Vignerons en Luberon'.

Since the beginning of 2022, the Pertuis tourist office has joined the other three tourist offices engaged in the V&D label approach.
