Le Château du Bois shop, at the Luberon Lavender Museum in Coustellet
More than a brand of natural and organic cosmetics, Le Château du Bois is a story of family values that have been passed on to each generation.
"Every day, I wake up breathing in the fine lavender that my family has been producing since 1890, and every night I go to bed with a few drops on my pillow. It is a daily dream to live with this fabulous flower", Jack Lincelé, owner-harvester and distiller, tells us all the secrets of this emblematic flower of the South of France. He shares with us the many benefits of this thousand-year-old flower, called lavandula officinalis or fine lavender. "I cultivate 110 hectares of true lavender fields at an altitude of 1100m, whose aromatic perfume perfumes the mountains of Provence in July. The essential oil of lavender from Haute Provence PDO is a concentrate of benefits for relaxation, for skin care and for the mind. All the brand's organic cosmetics (certified by Ecocert Greenlife) and perfumes are formulated and produced in Provence, in an eco-responsible approach without cruelty to animals, and the brand supports the actions of the PETA organisation. "Every day, I invite you to live a unique sensory experience thanks to the real lavender of Château du Bois. Thank you for discovering our world" Jack Lincelé
Producers and distillers since 1890
The Lincelé family guarantees complete traceability from the seed to the 100% pure and natural essential oil. Its rare and precious character is highly appreciated, as it is the only variety of lavender in the world to be recognised for its medicinal virtues in the European pharmacopoeia. Thanks to their know-how, they have developed a complete range of natural, organic, vegan and cruelty-free phytocosmetics, all formulated with a very high concentration of PDO fine lavender essential oil. This exclusivity positions the Le Château du Bois brand as the reference for Lavender cosmetic care products made in Provence.
The Lavender Museum boutique remains the emblematic address of this Vaucluse brand, which is still a 100% family-run business on a human scale in order to maintain a special relationship with its customers.
A Provencal brand with a wide range of niche products, certified organic and cruelty free with PETA
All products are developed, manufactured and packaged in France in laboratories in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region to guarantee high quality formulas with continuous research into the best raw materials. This spirit of innovation combined with its heritage is what Le Château du Bois puts into each of its creations, developing effective and ethical, aesthetic and sensory care products that take care of its consumers. This quality boutique preserves all the art of real lavender from Provence and offers a complete range of natural phytocosmetics certified organic by Ecocert: body oils, serums, emulsions, soaps and perfumes from the creator and the Haute Parfumerie tradition, and of course, the essential oil of fine lavender with the PDO lavender from Haute Provence stamped Le Château du Bois.
It is also the Boutique of the Luberon Lavender Museum
Opened in June 1991 in Coustellet on the Route de Gordes, at the time of the Museum's inauguration, it remains the meeting place for afficionados of the fine lavender of the Domaine Le Château du Bois. Integrated into the cultural space of the Luberon Lavender Museum, it welcomes visitors who end their visit with an olfactory tasting of the essential oil and all the cosmetic nuggets created with this famous lavender from Haute Provence PDO. Everything is natural, from perfumes to organic and cruelty-free cosmetics. "Many of our loyal customers like to remember their first visit, that first contact with real lavender. They have become accustomed to going back to their roots by continuing to use their favourite products. It is a very pleasant link where one feels "on holiday", welcomed and advised. The kindness of the team, nicknamed "the lavender team" and the quality of the service are often cited. We are proud of this lively place where exchange is essential," says Jack Lincelé, owner and director of the Musée de la Lavande Luberon.
