The Domaine de MasLauris is located in the heart of Provence, on one of the most beautiful terroirs of the Luberon appellation. The lands of the Domaine stretch on gentle hillsides, close to the village of Lauris, between the massif du Luberon and the Durance.
From these lands, there is a magnificent panorama from the Luberon, with its highest point the Mourre Nègre, to the Sainte-Victoire mountain passing through the Pays d'Aix-en-Provence.
Passionate about wine and the region, the owners of MasLauris dreamed of an exceptional place. An estate where we produce fine and elegant wines, rooted in their terroir, in harmony with their environment, using a method of elaboration combining traditional and modern winemaking techniques with natural concrete vats for the elaboration of red wines.
Since 2012, the domain has been completely redesigned. It has benefited from a complete renovation with the construction of a brand new gravity cellar, preceded, after grubbing-up and rest of the land, by the replanting of nearly 10 hectares of young vines. These vines, from the best selections in order to regain the quality of the most beautiful grape varieties of the Rhône Valley, are conducted in organic farming.
In the winery, vinification is carried out in a gentle, rigorous way, as naturally as possible and respectful of the grapes harvested. They are conducted on the advice of Michel Tardieu, child of Lauris, where the estate is located.
The vineyards of the MasLauris Domain are located on beautiful terroirs typical of the south of the Rhône valley. Soils consist of sandy loamy land and pebbles. They benefit from a well-drained soil, rich in trace elements, restitution of the Luberon massif that dominates them.
Totally replanted, the vines are all in one place around the property and enjoy both exceptional sunshine and cool nights in summer, after often dry and harsh winters. The presence of the Mistral in the region makes it possible to bring freshness and ensure an irreproachable health and thus healthy harvest.
The greatest care is given to the management of the vine in organic farming where we find the grape varieties that allow to produce great wines from the Rhône and the south of France: Syrah, Grenache noir, Mourvèdre and Cinsault, Roussane, Grenache blanc, Vermentino and Viognier. The harvest is entirely manual, harvested at optimal maturity, thanks to a rigorous monitoring of maturities carried out by us.
True to its Provencal roots, the MasLauris Domain produces red, rosé and white wines vinified at the estate under the advice of Michel Tardieu. Originating from grapes harvested by hand, these wines certified organic vinification intend to fully restore the typicity of grape varieties of the appellation Luberon.
